29th Lasusu president inaugural speech.

The 29th President of the Lagos State University Students’ Union, Comrade Leader’s Oluwatayo Olawale (OLA – DELZ) in his acceptance speech stated his 4 – Point Agenda to include : Students’ Welfare, Academics, Innovations and Entrepreneurship and Socials.

The President while appreciating all the world class students of the University, informed the entire University Community, in particular, the students that his administration will be an all – inclusive one. He promised to always be ready to listen to the yearnings and suggestions of all students, adding that his Colleagues (Students) must be of good conduct and also be good ambassadors of the Institution “…I will admonish you to be good ambassadors of this great citadel of learning for the world has changed, our nation has changed, our citadel of learning has changed and we must change with it.” He urged all the executive members and other functionaries of the Students’ Union to be ready to serve responsibly and not to be self – centred/selfish.

He equally had a message for the Public and Private Sectors as he expresed that the 29th LASUSU will be open to support from them to build the Union “…I want to appeal to them to concentrate on the development of this Union…I want the sectors to kindly help in funding our Union and create a safe haven for internship.”

The 29th LASUSU President started his administration on a good note with a promise, as he said “…to kick start my administration, in the next 48hours, we will introduce LASUSU Mini and Mega Table Water still packaged as La Vaser water currently, but, to be packaged as LASUSU TABLE WATER soonest.” He said.

The LASUSU Mini Table Water (50cl) according to him will be sold for Thirty (N30 :00) while the LASUSU Mega Table Water (75cl) will go for Forty (N40 : 00).

He thanked the Members of the University Management, Dean, Students’ Affairs, hardworking Members of the Lagos State University Independent Electoral Committee (LASUSUIEC) led by Yahya Isiaq, his co – Contestants (YUSUF Nurudeen – OMOMEEWA; NAFIU Hamid – BOKO HALAL; and WUSA Lucky – SYNERGY), Past Students’ Union Leaders, in particular, Past Presidents – Comrades Tayo Sekoni; Kappo Samuel Olawale; Olalere Samuel and other members of the 28th LASUSU.
