LASU MANAGEMENT PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF FORMER PRO – CHANCELLOR & CHAIRMAN, GOVERNING COUNCIL

The Lagos State University Management led by Prof. ‘Lanre Fagbohun, SAN, on Tuesday, 8th January, 2019, paid a condolence visit to the family(ies) of the former Pro – Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council; Late Ptofessor ‘Deji Femi – Pearse.

The Management again, sympathized and empathized with the family(ies) of the deceased and prayed that God should give them the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss.

Commiserating with the members of the family, the Vice Chancellor Professor Lanre Fagbohun described late prof. ‘Deji Femi – Pearse as an erudite Scholar and astute Administrator in his life time.

Prof. Fagbohun, SAN, with heavy heart recalled some of the notable achievements of the former Pro – Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, in particular, his invaluable efforts towards the establishment of the Lagos State University College of Medicine, (LASUCOM), Ikeja, Lagos.

 

Late Prof. Ayodeji Femi – Pearse who died at the age of 86, was the founder of popular scenic resort, Whispering Palms, Iworo, Badagry. He was born on 18th September, 1932. He became a Professor in 1977 at the age of 45.

Late Professor Ayodeji Femi – Pearse served as the Pro – Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of our dear University, between year 2000 and 2004.

 

Members of the University Management who visited the family include : Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration); Prof. Oyedamola Oke, University Registrar; Mr. Mohammed Olayinka Amuni, Acting University Librarian; Mrs. Aderonke Bello and Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office; Mrs. Anat Adesunkanmi with family members.
